What do you collect on the website?
The quote form collects your name, phone number, email address, vehicle registration, postcode and any message you type.
Registration and postcode start a quote. Name, phone and email let us get back to you. The message is optional. If you ring or email instead, we hold the same sort of details you give us then.
We do not take card numbers on this website. Payment for a scrapped vehicle is by bank transfer, arranged off the site.
Why do you use it?
That includes contacting you, agreeing a price, collecting the vehicle, paying you by bank transfer, and notifying DVLA where that is part of the job. We rely on the contract (or steps to enter it), legal obligations such as DVLA notification and required records, and legitimate interests in running the business.
How long do you keep it?
As long as we need it for the quote or the job, then as routine business records.
A quote that does not go ahead is not kept forever. After a collection we keep what we need for the job and for ordinary accounts, DVLA and scrap-dealer records.
Who do you share it with?
We do not sell your personal data.
We share what is needed to do the job, including DVLA when we notify them, and our bank when we pay you by transfer. We have not listed website hosts or other suppliers. If the law requires us to hand data to a regulator or the police, we will.
Do you use cookies or analytics?
This site needs some technical cookies to work, including sending the quote form.
We have not confirmed Google Analytics or other advertising cookies, and we do not describe a cookie-banner product here. If we add that sort of tracking, we will update this page.
What are my rights?
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it erased, by emailing 4wardvehicle@gmail.com.
You can also ask us to restrict how we use it, to object, or to receive a copy in a portable form, where those rights apply. We may still need to keep some records if the law requires it.
