Leeds Scrap Cars is a family-run brand of 4ward Vehicle Solutions Limited, based at 64 Hall Lane, Armley, Leeds LS12 2LH. We have been in the Leeds area for nearly 30 years.
How do I get a quote?
Give us your vehicle registration and postcode. That is enough to start a quote. Add your name, phone, email and a short message if you want to tell us the car does not run, has no log book, or is in an awkward spot.

We say that in 99% of cases we pay what we quote. If something on the car is not as described when we collect it, we will tell you before we take it.
How we price a scrap car explains the sort of things that usually affect a quote. We do not publish a price list, because every vehicle is different.
Will you collect the car?
Yes. We collect across Leeds and Yorkshire, and in most cases we can collect the same day.
Non-runners are fine. So are cars that failed an MOT — we can collect from the MOT station. We have collected vehicles from awkward positions. If you would rather bring it in, drop-off is available at our Armley address.
You do not need the car to be driveable. Tell us on the form or on the phone if it is blocked in, hard to get to, or still at a garage.
What about the V5C and DVLA?
We contact DVLA and complete the paperwork. You should still keep the yellow “sell, transfer or part-exchange your vehicle to the motor trade” section of the log book (V5C), as GOV.UK tells you to.
GOV.UK: how to scrap your vehicle says you should give the log book to the authorised treatment facility (ATF), keep that yellow section, and tell DVLA you have taken the vehicle to an ATF. GOV.UK states you can be fined £1,000 if you do not tell DVLA.

Will I get a Certificate of Destruction?
If the vehicle is fully scrapped, a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) is the proof that it has been handed over for scrap. We can issue a DVLA Certificate of Destruction if required.
GOV.UK says an ATF should give you a CoD within 7 days for a car, light van, or 3-wheeled motor vehicle (not a motor tricycle). Without it, GOV.UK says you could still be liable for vehicle tax and traffic offence penalties.

What vehicles do you buy?
We buy road-registered cars, vans and plant. Condition is not a barrier.
That includes:
- non-runners
- accident-damaged vehicles
- MOT failures (including collection from the MOT station)
- abandoned projects
- vehicles in awkward positions
If you are not sure it counts, put the registration on the quote form and tell us what is wrong with it.
How do you pay?
By bank transfer. In England and Wales it is illegal to be paid in cash when a vehicle is scrapped. GOV.UK is clear: payment has to be by bank transfer or cheque.
We do not pay cash for scrap vehicles. If a cheque is a better fit for you, ask when you get your quote.
